Canada's alpine lakes are changing colour, losing their distinctive blue trait
The new film, Losing Blue, takes a deeper and more poetic look at the disappearing glaciers in Canada's Rocky Mountains, which could cause alpine lakes to change colour and lose their distinctive blue trait.
Canadian filmmaker Leanne Allison's new documentary Losing Blue will be airing at this year's Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. The film takes a poetic approach to telling the story of how alpine lakes could lose their colour as glaciers disappear due to climate change. In Allison's words, the film explores what it would be like if this special colour became endangered.
