How cold is too cold to dry your clothes out on the line?
Some of these answers may truly surprise you.
Efficiency Nova Scotia says in many homes, the dryer is the third most energy-consuming appliance.
Those idyllic summer days with a warm breeze blowing your tea towels in the wind are great for tourism commercials, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, can you hang tough straight through winter?
I posed the question to Twitter, and the overwhelming response was that it's never too cold!
Louis Tasiopoulos has been a tailor for over thirty years and he says hanging your clothes is a much better option.
"I prefer the line", he says. "Hang it on the line so it's fresher. You put it in the dryer, usually, a lot of clothes shrink, and also a lot of clothes, they don't call for the dryer so I would say outside is the best."
Now it's understandable if you don't want to be putting on your winter boots just to go hang a few garments on the line, but keep this in mind if you do: you'll save a ton on dryer sheets while having your clothes smelling as fresh as Mother Nature's air!
