The Louisiana flood water is full of snakes
Louisiana is still dealing with over-flowing levees and heavy rain courtesy of Hurricane Barry.
That prompted first responders in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana to post a public warning on Facebook about the dangers of the water.
Apparently, it's crawling with critters, like alligators and snakes.
"If the area you live in has high water, watch out for snakes and other critters who are trying to escape the flood waters as well," reads the Saturday Facebook post, which includes several photos of snakes.
The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness shared video from a family who found a small alligator hiding out under their BBQ.
"We've told you about the possibility of interaction with animals during a flood event," reads the Twitter post.
Barry has since weakened and is no longer a hurricane or a tropical storm, but it is still expected to drop several millimetres of rain across the southeastern U.S.
Several streets remain flooded and homes were still without power Monday across Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.
