Goutweed is an incredibly hearty ground cover that requires a unique approach to get rid of. The Weather Network's Nathan Coleman has tips for dealing with the plant in Canada.
The Goutweed Support Group has nearly 4,000 members on Facebook, and those numbers keep growing as fast as the weed itself.
John Moakes is a landscaper and administrator of the group, and he says goutweed is every gardener's nightmare right now.
Because it's so aggressive, it's very difficult to incorporate into a garden and have diversity because it wants to just create a monoculture of itself, inhibiting the growth of anything else around it.
In the video above, Moakes explains how to recognize if the weed is on your lawn and what you can do to limit its spread.
