Vancouver has a secret climbing tree, and we've found it
We go on the hunt to find (and scale) the secret Vancouver climbing tree
You would never notice it driving down the Cambie Corridor just south of Downtown Vancouver, but here lies the location of the Cambie Climbing Tree. Well, we won't give you the exact location because the locals here have managed to keep it secret for years, but if you look close enough, you might be able to spot some orange rope hiding behind the branches.
The giant sequoia tree is believed to be one of the oldest in Vancouver, and over the years, the residents nearby have maintained the tree, adding ropes and tires to help even the most novice climbers like myself. With so many tree climbing experts over the years, the branches have been smoothed out, making it easier to climb up the branches.

If you are able to join the exclusive Cambie Climbing Tree club, you will be rewarded with gorgeous views of Vancouver, Burnaby, and the North Shore mountains, but be warned, it is no easy feat, and there are no safety precautions in place. So if you do want to try and climb the tree, make sure you go with a friend, wear the right gear, don't go on a rainy day as branches can be quite slippery, know your limits, and of course keep the location secret because that is part of the fun.
