Weekend may feel disappointing in southern Ontario, but the hot weather is near
This weekend may feel slightly disappointing across southern Ontario, but the summer-like heat is building and things could get hot in a hurry!
This weekend will take us back in time with temperatures that are more typical of May.
Once again, the weekend will include some rain, and while the showers may be a bit of a nuisance, most of the daylight hours will actually be rain-free.
Despite this brief fling with spring this weekend, it won't be long until we see some mid-summer-like heat arrive in full force. See, below.

A soaking rain is likely across most of southern Ontario during Saturday night, and it is possible that the rain will arrive early enough to impact outdoor plans during Saturday evening.
The widespread rain should be over by Sunday morning, but if the timing of the system slows down by just a few hours, then showers will linger into the early morning hours.
Sunday will bring a mix of sun and cloudy periods, with a risk for passing showers, but most of the day will be dry. Temperatures will continue to be on the cool side of seasonal.
Temperatures will be even cooler on Monday, more typical of early May. We will continue to have a risk for a passing shower, but most of the day will be dry.
The rest of next week will feature a slow warming trend, with temperatures recovering to near seasonal during the second half of the week with abundant sunshine.

The warming trend is expected to continue through Father’s Day weekend. The timing is still uncertain, but hot weather could arrive as early as Father's Day.
