Did your province have the warmest September on record?
September has been an exceptionally mild month across the country.
It should be shocking to no one that Canada has had an incredibly mild start to September across most of the country.
Take a look at the national temperature anomaly as it paints quite the picture of above-seasonal temperatures. The jet stream lifted north up to Hudson Bay, creating an influx of mild temperatures, with a blocking pattern in the atmosphere.
The darker reds naturally grab your eyes, and those provinces were well above seasonal - in some cases over 5 degrees above 1991-2020 normals.
