Heat wave has police asking criminals to take a ‘break’ for the weekend
Dear criminals…can you take a take a break please?
The scorching weather that has plagued much of the U.S. has police officials in Braintree, Massachusetts pleading with offenders, asking them to refrain from engaging in illegal activity for the remainder of the weekend.

Now they’re not asking them to completely hold off on illegal acts forever, but instead have proposed that they wait until Monday to continue, once the heat wave presumably passes.
The Braintree Police Department posted the plea on Facebook on Friday.
“Conducting criminal activity in this extreme heat is next level henchman status, and also very dangerous,” said the post which has collected more than 106, 000 shares since Friday.
Instead of spending the weekend committing criminal acts, the police department suggests that you “stay home, blast the AC, binge Stranger Things season 3, play with the face app, [or] practice karate in your basement.”
The Braintree police department, however, may have a point, as the heat wave seems to be criminal enough.
The U.S. National Weather Service issued a heat warning for parts of the eastern United States, including Braintree in Massachusetts on Friday.
Temperatures in the area are hitting the upper 30s, but with the heat index could reach as dangerously high as 42 degrees C.

During cases of extreme heat and humidity, the Weather Network recommends avoiding outdoor exertion or extended exposure to the sun.
Residents living in affected areas in the East coast should take the warning seriously and avoid activities, particularly from the mid afternoon and evening hours, the most dangerous and humid parts of the day.
In addition to their plea for a halt on crime, the police also requested that people not spoil the plot of Stranger Things season 3 for them, as the Braintree department are just finishing up the second season of the show.
“We will all meet again on Monday when it's cooler,” the police department added.
