PHOTOS: First snow of the season blankets southern Quebec
Southern Quebec starts the week with its first snowfall of the season after a sharp drop in weekend temperatures
An abrupt reversal in atmospheric fortunes is sweeping through southern Quebec as the first snowfall of the season hits the region just days after an exceptional stretch of unseasonable warmth last week.
By early Monday morning, several communities had already reported a dusting of snow, with up to 5 cm reported in some of the harder hit areas.

While it's not an excessive amount by any means, with it being the first coating of the season, it could make for a challenging commute for drivers. Motorists were being urged to adjust to the changing conditions in a special weather statement that covered most of the region Monday morning.
"As this is the first snowfall of the season, travel could be difficult on some parts of the road," says Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) in the statement.
