February is notorious for freeze-thaw cycles. For example, Pearson International Airport has followed this trend. So far, we have had exactly 10 days below zero and 10 days above zero -- maximizing the damage of our roads.
"(In the month of February), we've had a thaw, then a freeze, then a brief thaw, another freeze, then a thaw, then a freeze, then a thaw, then a freeze and a thaw. Imagine how the pavement feels," said Tyler Hamilton, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.
