Now, people have discovered a new use for salt by placing a bowl of it on their window sills.
The idea behind it?
As the outside temperatures drop, the cold air meets the warm air from inside your home at your windows, especially if there's a radiator underneath.

This creates condensation and can even lead to mould growth—something you definitely want to avoid breathing in.
Enter the bowl of salt. By naturally absorbing moisture from the air, it's plausible that it could help reduce condensation around your windows if a bowl is left out on the sill.
