Heavy snowfall in B.C. leads to early opening at Big White Ski Resort
Ski season is just a hop, skip, and a jump away, aided by recent snowfall in B.C.
The heavy snow falling in parts of B.C. has led officials at Big White Ski resort to announce it will open early this year.
"Mother Nature just delivered 17cm of fresh POW overnight, bringing our alpine base in some areas to over 100cm," reads an excerpt from a Sunday afternoon X post by the ski resort.
"That means it's time to hit the slopes early!"
Big White will open its doors on Friday, November 22, and lifts will run from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Other B.C. ski resorts opening this week
Blackcomb mountain is opening Thursday, November 21, as previously scheduled. Whistler mountain is set to open a day later, on November 22.
Meanwhile, Revelstoke Mountain Resort is still on track to open on November 30.
