A tornado watch means that conditions are favourable for the development of tornadoes.

A tornado warning means that a tornado is imminent or occurring, with rotation spotted on radar or visual reports confirming a tornado touchdown.

Tropical tornadoes happen quickly with reduced tornado warning lead time. Anyone in the region should pay close attention to rapidly unfolding weather conditions and prepare to quickly seek shelter if a tornado warning is issued.
