Twister spotted in central Alberta
A possible tornado was spotted Monday afternoon southeast of Alberta's capital city.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) are investigating reports that a tornado touched down near Edberg, a small community south of Camrose that is about 125 kilometres southeast of Edmonton.
Erin Staunton, a meteorologist with ECCC, said there have been several reports of a tornado and "it does seem likely that a tornado touched down in the area."

A tornado watch was issued just before 3:30 for a large area stretching from south and east of Edmonton to the Saskatchewan border. The tornado watch was cancelled just after 7 p.m.
Environment Canada, which issued the warning, said conditions "are favourable for the development of funnel clouds and possibly brief, weak tornadoes."

The warning also noted "strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible. The potential for tornadoes will exist until early this evening."
Edberg resident Cheyenne McCrea managed to capture video of a funnel cloud.
"I've lived here for 25 years, and I've never, never seen anything in this area," she told CBC.
"It was a very different kind of out-of-body experience. Actually, it was very unique to watch."
